Bytes for All (B4A), Pakistan is a human rights organization and a research think tank with a focus on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). We promote the use of technology for sustainable development, democracy and social justice. Our strategic plan delivers in the following key result areas (KRA):

Our Services


Bytes for All (B4A) conducts research on the issues related to impacts of information and communication technologies (ICTs) on the society and implement field projects in the light of this research. Its focus has always been on human rights, community development, environment and social well-being. 

This impact study may include: studying the usage patterns; penetration of different tools or services; developing metrics or indicators to developments on certain areas such as, human rights defenders, minority rights; identifying best practices on different areas of ICTs for development; analyzing or monitoring regulatory policy issues and recommending informed actions.

B4A has vast experience in organizing research both primary and/or secondary data research with a task of designing the methodologies both qualitative and quantitative approaches, doing field-level survey, desk or web research, analyzing and synthesizing information, authoring or editing reports and communicating research results.

It also develops evaluation methodologies, monitoring metrics and conducts studies for different projects and initiatives. B4A’s is also capable of preparing strategies or planning documents for research results and web communications.

Supporting innovation is at the heart of B4A’s work. It facilitates and supports implementation of different innovative ideas of young researchers by providing in-kind fellowship, offering logistics and research support and promoting the outcomes of the research. Main purpose is to aggregate the research ideas of others in the relevant field and to make it an ongoing innovative place.

B4A also provides space and builds up platform for young human rights defenders, researchers, technology developers, who want to track and analyze the trend of ICT usage in different areas of development and how it is impacting the society. 

It works as a network to different stakeholders in the region and provides opportunities for face to face and online meetings on the issues of concern. For the purpose, B4A organizes capacity building events, training workshops, seminars, webinars and engage people with projects.

B4A also organize research based advocacy campaigns on issues related to development. This advocacy work includes informed discussions on relevant topics, presentation of findings, mobilizing opinions, organizing forums, lobbying for policy changes or implementation etc.
