With the advent of smartphones, the phone camera and sound recording offer immense opportunities to the journalists and citizens alike to leverage it for professional reporting of incidents of public interest. Smartphone-enabled journalism empowers the citizens to produce the broadcast quality stories for public sharing.
For promoting transparency and accountability to governance, mobile phones come handy as a citizen journalist can capture any moment, anytime at the grassroot level, particularly where there is no presence of the mainstream media. Taking advantage of the mobile-laden media ecosystem, citizens can perform multimedia tasks on their smartphones.
In the mobile training hands-on session, we will explore and experiment with different mobile applications, which support and simplify the technical aspects. The training also aims at complementing technical skills with best practices in journalism including privacy and ethical concerns arising out of mobile journalism.
We will conduct two trainings each month for maximum 10 participants per training. If you are interested to attend this training, please register yourself and we will reach out to invite you for the next available slot. No prior experience is required.
